Eligibility: Please review carefully

If you cannot meet and prove your compliance with the following conditions your application will not be considered.

1. Residency: You must have resided in Minnesota for 12 of the 24 months preceding the Fellowship year, and remain a resident during the fellowship year.

2. Mid-career status/accomplishments:

Your resumè should demonstrate a history of sustained accomplishment over a period of at least five years. Exhibitions, publications, teaching, lecturing, and other activities will be weighed as evidence of commitment to the medium of photography and to the broad community of artists.
Applicants should have received some level of professional acknowledgement both locally and regionally as demonstrated by fellowships, grants, solo and group exhibitions and press.
The totality of the accomplishments, specifically exhibitions, should be outside of an accredited degree program to qualify for mid-career status- i.e. student exhibitions or student juried exhibitions offered for degree seeking candidates will not count towards the five year period of accomplishment.

3. Restrictions:

Commercial/organizational projects and work by full-time, degree seeking students are ineligible for funding.
Photography Fellowship recipients from 2005 through 2009 are not eligible to apply in 2010, nor are past recipients who have not completed all the requirements of their fellowship contract.
No individual may receive more than $50,000 of McKnight Foundation Artist Fellowship support in any three-year period.
No individual may apply to more than one McKnight Artist Fellowship program in a given year; doing so will disqualify the applicant from consideration in any program that year. (This restriction does not apply to the regional arts council artist grants supported by the foundation.) If you have questions as to you the appropriateness of your application or work in relation to the Photography Fellowship please contact the Fellowship Director at scott.stulen@walkerart.org or 612-375-7616.
